A man is recovering in hospital following a shooting incident at his home in Limerick.

A man is recovering in hospital following a shooting incident at his home in Limerick.

The man, in his twenties, was shot in the chest after he answered a knock at his front door at about 1:45am.

The incident happened at a house in Delmege Park, Moyross.

The victim was taken to Limerick Regional Hospital where his injuries are described as not life threatening.

The scene has been sealed off for forensic examination.
