Debut Drogs goal for Zayed

Eamon Zayed scored on his debut as Drogheda leapfrogged to the top of the Premier Division table - for 24 hours at least.

Drogheda had the dream start of the lead goal after just three minutes. Saints have only themselves to blame as their defending was absent as Jason Gavin got on the end of Paul Keegan’s free kick to head home.

Another Keegan free kick led to Drogheda’s second goal ten minutes later.

He put Shane Robinson away down the right to cross and Zayed, signed this week from Bray Wanderers, arrived to crash home.

Alan Reilly converted a 55th minute penalty, after Graham Gartland brought down Mark Quigley, to make the second half interesting, but Drogheda held out for a big win.
