Dublin Fire Brigade predicts Oxigen Recycling plant blaze to continue for days

Dublin Fire Brigade expect the blaze at the Oxigen Recycling Plant in Ballymount to burn on over the coming days.

Fire officers have been working since the early hours of this morning to bring the blaze under control.

The blaze broke out at around 3am this morning.

There is still concern for public safety due to fumes being carried by strong winds.

Gardaí in Dublin are advising people living in the area to close to the Ballymount Industrial Estate to keep their windows and doors closed due to the toxic nature of burning material and to avoid being out in the air if possible.

John Keogh is incident commander with Dublin Fire Brigade, he says his crew are working in very tough conditions.

Members of Dublin fire brigade and senior personnel are still attempting to get the fire at the Oxigen Recycling Plant in the Merrywell Industrial Estate under control.
