A Sligo man who was last month convicted of raping and sexually assaulting his daughter will be sentenced at the Central Criminal Court in March.

Ms Justice Elizabeth Dunne had adjourned sentencing earlier this month when the 46-year-old man was hospitalised following an alleged overdose.

The convicted man was today produced in court and a medical report handed in.

Ms Justice Dunne set a sentence date of March 1 next and remanded the man in custody.

The man was found guilty by a jury last month of raping and sexually assaulting his teenage daughter following a six-day trial.

The jurors were unable to agree a verdict on three further counts of sexual assault.
