Additional checkpoints set up in effort to clamp down on speed
Gardaí are mounting additional speed checkpoints across the country over the Bank Holiday weekend, in a clampdown on those who drive too fast.
There have been 13 more deaths on our roads to date this year, when compared to this time in 2012.
153 people have lost their lives to date.
