Police in north Belfast are appealing for information following a shooting incident at a fast food outlet that has left a man fighting for his life.

Police in north Belfast are appealing for information following a shooting incident at a fast food outlet that has left a man fighting for his life.

The man was shot on the Oldpark Road at about 5.40pm this evening and remains in a critical condition in hospital.

A short time later a blue coloured Vauxhall Astra estate car was seen leaving the scene and a car matching this description was found on fire a short time later nearby in Torrens Gardens.

PSNI officers are appealing for any witnesses to come forward.
