A downturn in the IT sector is being blamed for the lost of 24 jobs in Connemara, Co Galway.

Cable Harness Manufacturing in Carraroe has a workforce of 120.

Negotiations over redundancy packages will start on Tuesday.

Siptu says the area can ill-afford such job losses.
