Gormley: 'Pandering' to independents 'not good for country'

The Green Party leader John Gormley is warning voters against backing independent candidates in the General Election.

The Green Party leader John Gormley is warning voters against backing independent candidates in the General Election.

Mr Gormley, who was speaking at the launch of the party's political broadcast, said "pandering to independents is not good for the country".

He believes that if independents hold the balance of power it will hamper Ireland's recovery from the economic crisis.

Mr Gormley is appealing to people to use their vote to elect a stable Government.
