Police find body in North Belfast

Police investigating the disappearance of Shankill Road loyalist Alan McCullough said today they had found a body on the outskirts of north Belfast.

Police investigating the disappearance of Shankill Road loyalist Alan McCullough said today they had found a body on the outskirts of north Belfast.

Mr McCullough, an associate of jailed loyalist Johnny Adair has been missing - presumed dead - since last week.

Earlier today police had launched a search in around Aughnabrack Road in Mallusk just north of Belfast, amid reports of a shallow grave being spotted.

A police spokesman said the search had been mounted as a result of “information received by police”.
