British trawler detained off Galway coast

The Irish Navy has detained a British-registered fishing vessel off the coast of the Co Galway.

The Irish Navy has detained a British-registered fishing vessel off the coast of the Co Galway.

The Grampian Avenger was detained around 100 miles west of Slyne Head for allegedly breaching regulations on net size and hake fishing.

The vessel was escorted to Galway by the LE Aisling pending possible legal proceedings.
