The controversial MOX plant is due to open at Sellafield today.

The controversial MOX plant is due to open at Sellafield today.

The BNFL is still waiting for the green light from the British government’s safety monitor before it begins reprocessing nuclear fuel.

The Green Party are planning to stage a protest at the opening.

The protest group has travelled from Ireland to take part in peaceful demonstrations.

Green Party TD, John Gormley, is also travelling with the group to Sellafield and has said they want their protest to be taken seriously.
