EA SPORTS Cup holders Sligo Rovers have been drawn against non-league surprise packets Cockhill Celtic in the Second Round of the competition.

Cockhill were drawn at home to Paul Cook’s Premier Division stars in Pool Two in the draw at FAI headquarters in Abbotstown today.

The Bit O’Red will travel to Donegal on Monday April 25 to face the Junior side, who shocked Galway United in the First Round on Monday night.

Paul McKinney was credited with a hat-trick in the 3-1 win for the Inishowen peninsula outfit at Terryland Park.

The club was formed in 1970 and won the Donegal News Ulster Senior Premier Division crown and League Cup last season. The senior team is managed by Donal O’Brien.

Meanwhile, arguably the tie of the round is the meeting in Pool Three of St Patrick’s Athletic and Airtricity League champions Shamrock Rovers.

The draw for the EA SPORTS Cup Second Round in full:

Pool 1: Limerick v Tralee Dynamos or Waterford United; Wexford Youths v Cork City.

Pool 2: Cockhill Celtic v Sligo Rovers; Derry City v Mervue United.

Pool 3: Drogheda United v UCD; St Patrick’s Athletic v Shamrock Rovers.

Pool 4: Monaghan United v Dundalk; Shelbourne v Bohemians

The winners of each tie progress to an open draw at the quarter-final stage.
