Hoax bomb found in Dublin

An army bomb disposal team examined a hoax device placed under a car at Kildare Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12 tonight.

An army bomb disposal team examined a hoax device placed under a car at Kildare Road, Crumlin, Dublin 12 tonight.

"Our experts arrived on scene at 10.30 pm, following a Garda request to attend," said a spokesman.

"The device contained no explosive content but had nails, screws and a powdered substance packaged in a small cylindrical container."

No controlled explosion was carried out and the team gave the all clear at 11.10 pm.

The remains of the device were handed over to gardaí on scene for further investigation.
