Peter Queally may have hurled his last ball for Waterford after agreeing to take over as the county's new football coach.

The Garda Síochana member led Waterford to Munster hurling success last year with some brilliant displays, but fell out with boss Justin McCarthy and vowed not to play again for him.

His decision to help the footballers, under new boss Billy Harte, could well spell the end of a glittering hurling career.
