The treatment of elderly people by the authorities is set to be the focus of Ombudsman Emily O'Reilly's annual report for 2004, which is due to be published today.
Reports yesterday said Ms O'Reilly would use the launch of the document to relay a number of concerns about how older people are cared for.
The reports also claimed that new revelations would emerge at the launch about back payments due to medical card holders who were illegally charged for nursing home care.
