Man dies in Monaghan car accident

A man in his 20s has been killed in a road accident in Co. Monaghan.

A man in his 20s has been killed in a road accident in Co. Monaghan.

The 22-year-old was the front-seat passanger of a car that was involved in a two-vehicle crash at Colnoony, Drumully, Clones, just before 4am this morning.

The 21-year-old driver, also a man, was not injured.

The 28-year-old man who was driving the other car is being treated for non-life threatening injuries he sustained in the crash.

Gardaí at Clones are appealing to witnesses to the collision to come forward.

The road is closed pending a forensic examination and local diversions are in place.
