Wales ready for all out attack from Italians

WELSH skipper David Young has warned his men to expect an all-out assault as Italy desperately attempt to avoid a Six Nations whitewash in Rome tomorrow.

The Welsh are on a high going into the game at the Stadio Flaminio following their magnificent victory against France in Paris last month.

Young’s team will be bidding to make it four successive away games without defeat, something no Welsh side has achieved in the championship for 22 years.

But the Cardiff prop knows that the Italians will pose a real threat.

“They are going to throw everything at us for the first 20 minutes,’’ said Young.

‘‘We will have to make sure we are up to the challenge from the start.

‘‘The Italians are like the French in that if you give them a chance to play there is a real buzz about them,” he said.

“But if you can control possession then their organisation goes.

‘‘It was a great win against France but if we are still high in the clouds after Paris then we will pay for it.

“We have a job to do this weekend and we will have to be at our best for the full 80 minutes.’’

Wales could go into second place in the Six Nations, pending the end of the the foot and mouth break until autumn, if England overcome France tomorrow and they preserve their perfect record against the Italians.
