Drogheda United are to host the Republic of Ireland under-21 friendly against Bulgaria on Tuesday, August 17.
The United Park match takes place the evening before Brian Kerr’s senior side takes on the Bulgarian national team at Lansdowne Road in its last outing before the start of the World Cup qualifying campaign.
The Co Louth ground has undergone extensive renovation work to win the FAI's blessing to stage the U21 international .
Paul Doolin’s side are exceeding expectations and riding high in the premier Division this season, a club spokesman said: “This is surely recognition of United's current status within the FAI and the club's contribution on and off the field to the National Association.”
