The Israeli spokesperson for Foreign Affairs has criticised the Irish Government for considering an EU-wide ban on export goods from Israeli settlements in the West Bank.
Last May, Tánaiste Eamon Gilmore said he would consider pushing for the ban at an EU meeting of Foreign Ministers and that he would make the decision this autumn.
Irish aid agency Trocaire is also campaigning for Ireland to ban the goods from Irish supermarkets, regardless of an EU-wide agreement.
Israel's spokesperson for Foreign Affairs Yigal Palmor said: "To act through blatant discrimination and to impose on Israel, and on Israel only, what is not imposed on any other country or territory around the world that may have been involved in some controversy - that is discrimination and discrimination is not something that anyone should favour."
