Gardaí in Cork have released a man who was arrested following a fire at the headquarters of the southern branch of the HSE at the weekend.

Gardaí in Cork have released a man who was arrested following a fire at the headquarters of the southern branch of the HSE at the weekend.

The blaze broke out at around 11pm on Saturday night and caused substantial damage to the building.

Witnesses reported seeing a man running from the scene after pushing something through the letter box.

Gardaí are continuing to investigate the cause of the fire and HSE employees are being advised to turn up for work as normal this morning.
