Family of cash-in-transit worker escapes attempted raid

The family of a cash-in-transit worker has escaped uninjured from an attempted raid this morning.

The family of a cash-in-transit worker has escaped uninjured from an attempted raid this morning.

Gardaí said that a gang of three or four men took the family from their Co Carlow home around 10.30pm last night.

The man's wife and two children were held in Co Wexford while the man was instructed to go to work in Dublin as normal.

He was told to get a number of bags which contained a large sum of money and wait for further instructions.

No arrests have yet been made in the investigation.
