Barry Nugent's injury-time point saw Clare earn a dramatic draw with Offaly after they had led for much of this Birr encounter.

In a tense finale, Rory Hanniffy managed to put the Faithfuls in front before Nugent collected a short puck-out from Philip Brennan and cracked over the game's final score.

Clare led 1-8 to 0-7 at half-time with free-taker Bernard Gaffney contributing 1-3, including a 23rd-minute goal.

Derek Molloy dispossessed Frank Lohan and netted early in the second half as Offaly mounted a comeback. Gaffney finished with a handsome 1-8 but Offaly deserved their share of the spoils.
