Up to 95 jobs are to be created in Cork as a US information technology company makes the city its hub.

Minister for Enterprise, Trade and Employment Micheál Martin today announced the decision by US firm Engenio Information Technologies.

The company is a leading provider of information storage systems.

Up to 95 high quality jobs will be created over the next five years and the Centre will be responsible for a wide range of operations, including product manufacturing, testing and scheduling.

Minister Martin said: “It is a significant addition to the data storage sector in Ireland, a sector which is critically important to the future development of the IT industry here.”

Engenio develops, builds, markets, and supports high-performance modular storage controllers, disk arrays, and storage management software for today's data-intensive, multi-vendor computing environments.
