Gambler sells up for one bet at roulette

A dedicated gambler is preparing to risk everything he owns today on a single bet at the roulette table.

Ashley Revell has flown to the world’s gaming capital Las Vegas for just one spin of the wheel.

The 32-year-old has been selling what he claims to be everything he owns, including his car and most of his clothes, to raise cash for his biggest-ever bet.

He has raised about £80,000 (€121,600) from car boot sales and auctions and will take the whole lot to the Hard Rock Casino.

Mr Revell, who once worked as Live TV’s News Bunny, will place the total either on red or black.

His dare will be shown on Sky One and is set to attract an audience of hundreds of thousands.

If he proves lucky, he will walk away with £160,000 (€243,100) – but the wrong choice will mean losing absolutely everything.

Mr Revell, from Kent, said: “Ever since I can remember, I’ve loved to gamble. But this is it – the big one.

“All I have is on the line. Everything I’ve ever worked for is going on red or black.

“It’s the purest bet you can do.”

He added: “I’m not married and I haven’t got kids. It’s almost like my last chance to go mad.

“It is just a matter of me saying ‘red’ or ‘black’ and that will change the future.”

Sky dismissed suggestions that Mr Revell may not be putting all his property on the bet.

A spokesman said the poker player had signed a legal affidavit to sell everything he owns and gamble it on red or black.

“We have done every check into Ashley and the situation.

“We have control over the bank account which contains the money Ashley has raised from selling all his items,” the spokesman said.
