Australian homicide detectives have said they have identified missing Drogheda woman Jill Meagher on CCTV footage taken in Melbourne.
The footage is believed to show the 29-year-old walking north through Brunswick, at about 1.41am on Saturday just after she left a pub she had been in with a work group.
Earlier, detectives and forensic investigators arrived at the Brunswick home Jill shares with her husband Thomas.
Police said that search is a routine part of the ongoing investigation.
They are also investigating whether Jill's handbag was planted in a laneway near Hope St, after an initial police search at the weekend failed to find it.
ABC reporter Lisa Macsimovic said investigators are adamant they could not have missed Jill's handbag during that first search.
Ms Macsimovic said: "The big twist in the case came when homicide police revealed that they had searched that laneway quite thoroughly after the weekend she went missing.
"Police had conducted a line search along with emergency services, they would not have missed her handbag, so now police are looking at the possibility that the handbag was placed there afterwards. That would have been done to throw them off."
