A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a truck in Co Cork.

A man in his 30s has died after being hit by a truck in Co Cork.

The incident happened at around 4pm on the N20 near Newtwopothouse.

The victim, a local man, was pronounced dead at the scene. His body was removed to Cork University Hospital.

The road has been shut to traffic while forensic crash investigators examine the scene.

Motorists are being advised that diversions are in place in both directions.

Gardaí appealed for witnesses to contact Mallow Garda Station on 022-31450, the Garda Confidential Telephone Line 1800 666 111 or any garda station.
