Man arrested after serious assault

A 24-year-old Belfast man was arrested today in connection with a serious assault in the north of the city which left another man critically ill.

A 24-year-old Belfast man was arrested today in connection with a serious assault in the north of the city which left another man critically ill.

The 23-year-old victim remained seriously ill in hospital today after suffering head injuries during the attack.

The victim was found in the bathroom of his home in Graymount Crescent, Greencastle yesterday by a family member.

Police were called to the scene at around 1am and the victim was taken to hospital by ambulance where he is being treated for severe head injuries.

Police have appealed for anyone with information about the incident to contact them.
