Teenage boy arrested in connection with pipe bomb discovery

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two pipe bombs in Co Limerick earlier this week.

A 14-year-old boy has been arrested in connection with the discovery of two pipe bombs in Co Limerick earlier this week.

One device exploded in the hallway of a house in Rathkeale during the early hours of Tuesday morning.

The second was made safe by members of the army bomb squad who were called to the house.

A 17-year-old boy and a woman in her fifties were also arrested this morning.

All three are being questioned at garda stations across Limerick.
