Police in the North are treating the death of a 91-year-old man in a house fire in Co Down as a suspected arson attack.

Police in the North are treating the death of a 91-year-old man in a house fire in Co Down as a suspected arson attack.

Samuel Carson died in Carryduff on Tuesday, and police now say they have received new information about the fire which leads them to believe it was started deliberately.

A 57-year-old woman has been arrested on suspicion of manslaughter.

She was detained at a police station in North Down yesterday, and remains in custody assisting police with their enquiries.
