Yorke fights for Birmingham place

Dwight Yorke is set to make his debut for Birmingham against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium tomorrow.

Dwight Yorke is set to make his debut for Birmingham against Middlesbrough at the Riverside Stadium tomorrow.

Yorke joined Birmingham on transfer deadline day from Blackburn and will challenge Mikael Forssell and Emile Heskey for a starting role in attack.

Darren Anderton is also in contention to make his debut after building up his fitness in two reserve-team outings.

Australian international Stan Lazaridis hopes to return at left-back.

Wales midfielder Robbie Savage is again missing as he completes a three-match ban for elbowing Chelsea’s Mateja Kezman last month.
