IFA step up protests at plants

The Irish Farmers Association has stepped up its protests outside meat factories across the country.

The Irish Farmers Association has stepped up its protests outside meat factories across the country.

Several hundred farmers picketed five plants through the night in protest at alleged price fixing that the IFA said is detrimental to farmers.

Many say they cannot make a living on the prices currently being offered for cattle. The protest is due to continue into tomorrow afternoon.
