West coast hit by high waves
The west coast has been lashed by mountainous seas.
A deep Atlantic depression has been blamed for the high waves, some as high as eight metres.
Communities from Donegal to Kerry have been warned to keep away from rocks and piers because of dangerous rip currents amid fears they might be swept into the water.
