Irish aid agency Concern has warned that it may take over a year to rebuild the towns and cities destroyed by the Indian earthquake.

More than 500,000 people are still homeless after the 7.7-magnitude quake devastated vast regions of western India 10 days ago.

Concern's David Begg, who has just returned from the country, said there are also fears of widespread disease because of the number of bodies decomposing beneath the rubble.
