Heroin criminalisation 'not working'

The Learning Curve Institute today called for Ireland to adopt a radical new approach to heroin addiction.

The Learning Curve Institute today called for Ireland to adopt a radical new approach to heroin addiction.

The Institute , which provides training to addiction personnel on behalf of the HSE, said that the policy of criminalisation when it comes to heroin is not working.

Eight out of every thousand people in Ireland have used heroin at least once according to a recent European study - double the EU average.
