A three-pronged investigation is underway after Gardai and customs officials seized a large container of spirits and meat, valued at over £15,000, on the Limerick-Tipperary border in a joint operation.

A three-pronged investigation is underway after Gardai and customs officials seized a large container of spirits and meat, valued at over £15,000, on the Limerick-Tipperary border in a joint operation.

The Revenue Commissioner, the Gardai and the Department of Agriculture have launched three separate investigations into the matter, however the cargo is unlikely to carry any threat of spreading the foot and mouth virus.
