Two syndicates in Dublin shared the Christmas Eve Lotto jackpot prize.

A syndicate of eight people from Dublin's north side collected a cheque for €1.4m from the headquarters of the National Lottery today.

The group, which includes a couple from Canada, won half of the bumper Christmas Eve jackpot.

The other half of the jackpot was collected by a west Dublin family syndicate yesterday.
