Two men have been arrested by Gardaí targetting organised crime in the Midlands.

Two men have been arrested by Gardaí targeting organised crime in the Midlands.

A man in his early 20s was arrested in Clara, Co Offaly yesterday afternoon. He is being held at Birr Garda Station. A second man, also in his early 20s, was arrested in Dublin last night and is being questioned at Tullamore Garda Station.

A car was also seized during the arrest in the capital.

Meanwhile, another man remains in Garda custody in Portlaoise in relation to the same investigation. Two women who were also detained last Friday have been released without charge.
