Guitarist Bryan Gregory has died aged 46.
He was one of the co-founders of American punk outfit The Cramps.
Gregory had recently suffered a heart attack and been ill for weeks, his former wife said.
No cause of death has yet been confirmed.
He co-founded The Cramps in New York during 1975.
Before his exit from the band in 1980, they made two recordings - the Gravest Hits EP and the Songs The Lord Taught Us album.
Gregory went on to play with Beast from 1980 to 1984 and with The Dials from 1992 to 1995. He'd recently formed a new band Shiver.
