Peter Ford is expected to hold onto his position as Galway senior football manager at a meeting of the Galway County Board in Tuam.
There was intense speculation that the Mayo man, who was initially appointed to the Galway hotseat in October 2004, would be axed after a disappointing season but he seems set to be handed a third year at the helm.
Ford is however, going to hand over the running of the Tribesmen's Under-21 team to someone else. He led his adopted county to All-Ireland U-21 glory in 2005.
2006 was a disappointing year for the Galway seniors who lost their grip on the Connacht title to arch rivals Mayo. They did win the Connacht FBD League but were forced to pull out of the 'away' final against New York last month due to the unavailability of a large chunk of their squad.
The Galway Board have requested nominations for both the minor and U-21 management positions.
Ford is due to unveil his new selectors at the meeting tonight - they will be Eoin O'Donnellan, who managed Salthill-Knocknacarra to their first AIB All-Ireland Club championship title last March, and Peter Warren, who was one of John O'Mahony's selectors when Galway lifted the Sam Maguire Cup in both 1998 and 2001.
