Mayo make two changes

Kevin O'Neill and Aidan Higgins have been drafted into the Mayo team for Sunday's All-Ireland SFC quarter-final against Laois (Croke Park, throw-in 2pm).

Former AllStar O'Neill, who impressed as a substitute in the Connacht final win over Galway, replaces Andy Moran in the full-forward line, while Liam O'Malley loses out in defence.

In O'Malley's absence, Higgins is brought in at right half-back, with team captain David Heaney reverting to full-back, where O'Malley took up residence against the Tribesmen.

Burrishoole defender O'Malley is suffering from a hamstring injury he picked up in training following the Galway game. He trained on his own on Monday, but will not be risked by the Connacht champions.

Heaney (shoulder) and James Nallen (hamstring) have both recovered from knocks picked up in recent club games, while Trevor Mortimer (hamstring) and David Brady (broken metatarsal) are both back in training, and seem likely to be introduced off the bench.

Manager Mickey Moran had a training session with his panel last night, and will bring his players to Dublin on Saturday for an overnight stay.

Mayo won their previous championship clash with Laois, the 1936 All-Ireland final, by 4-11 to 0-5.
