Financials drop on ISEQ

Anglo Irish Bank had a big drop on today's ISEQ in a bad morning for the financial sector.

Anglo Irish Bank had a big drop on today's ISEQ in a bad morning for the financial sector.

The bank recorded a 15c drop to leave it's current share vlaue at €10.95 a share. AIB dropped 6c to €17.36 and Irish Life and Permanent fell 5c to €14.60.

Bank of Ireland, however recored a 1c rise to €12.83.

Takeover target Jury's Doyle has recovered slightly from it's plunge in value towardrs the end of last week - it rose 5c to €17.10.

Construction companies also had mixed fortunes this morning.

Grafton went down 9c to €8.64, McInerney dropped 7c to €8.28 and Kingspan went down 4c to 10.28. CRH however recorded an increase of 5c to

€22.08.

Both Elan and United Drug recorded increases today. Elan rose 14c to €6.80 and United drug 8c to €3.55 .
