TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson has split from her husband after two years of marriage, it was announced today.

TV presenter Ulrika Jonsson has split from her husband after two years of marriage, it was announced today.

The former TV-am weathergirl and husband Lance Gerrard-Wright said in a statement: "We tried our best to make our marriage work, but we are now resigned to the fact that we should part."

The News of the World columnist, who has an 18-month old daughter Martha with Gerrard-Wright and two children from previous relationships, told the newspaper :``It is a very sad situation - not least for our children.

"And they are our first concern. Lance and I will do everything we can to ensure their happiness."

The couple met in 2002 on the TV dating show Mr Right.

Gerrard-Wright was supposed to select a girlfriend on the show, but ended up dating its host, Jonsson.

The pair married in August 2003 on the Swedish island of Varmdo, near Stockholm, with her children Cameron and Bo present.

Jonsson was previously married to cameraman John Turnbull and has had relationships with footballer Stan Collymore and hotel boss Marcus Kempen.

She also entered into a fling with England manager Sven Goran Eriksson in 2002.
