Tipperary hurling star Philip Maher will undergo an examination on his injured knee at Waterford Regional Hospital tomorrow Thursday.

Maher who went over awkwardly on his knee in the early stages of Monday's Allianz National hurling league final against Kilkenny is fervently hoping that the injury will not rule him out of the championship clash with Clare on Sunday week.

The Borrisoleigh man is hopeful that an examination to be carried out by Dr Tadhg 0'Sullivan today will reveal that the damage is not serious.
