Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has transferred the five gardaí involved in the Corrib tape controversy to indoor duties.

Garda Commissioner Martin Callinan has transferred the five gardaí involved in the Corrib tape controversy to indoor duties.

An investigation has been launched into claims that officers joked about carrying out sex attacks on the activists who were in their custody.

Four of the five have been transferred to Castlebar station.

Commissioner Callinan has completed a report on the matter which has been sent to the Garda Ombudsman.
