Experts carry out controlled explosion on Clare device
Army bomb disposal experts have carried out a controlled explosion on a viable device discovered in Co Clare earlier today.
It was discovered by gardaí in a vacant apartment in Shannon shortly before 1pm.
The Kincora flats complex was evacuated but residents have since been allowed return to their homes.
Forensic experts are now examining the apartment and the remains of the device.
