You either like Brand or you don’t, surprisingly if you don’t thenyou may well like him in this clever swipe at the lifestyle of rock singers … truly sex, drugs and rock n'roll.
Brand plays himself, albeit in the form of Aldous Snow, the character he played in 'Forgetting Sarah Marshall': a past-it singer who lives life on the crude and vulgar side.
Hill plays a record company junior sent to London to get Snow back for a comeback concert in LA’s famous Greek Theatre, no easy task as is seen by the many pitfalls encountered along the way.
The chemistry between Brand and Hill, and a great, funny contribution from Combs as the music exec, lifts the film vastly and gives it an edge that moves from gross-out to entertaining, from comedy to tragedy.
