ISEQ makes steady gains
The ISEQ-index of Irish shares made steady gains this morning climbing an impressive 280.51 points to 7892.19.
The financial heavyweights all made significant moves with AIB clocking up the best performance with a gain of €1.11 to €17.49. Anglo Irish Bank weren't far behind up 65c to €13 as was Bank of Ireland up 60c to €11.85. Irish Life and Permanent followed the positive trend gaining 29c to €15.22.
Elsewhere, and also responding positively within the food sector, IAWS was up 75c to €15.20 with Kerry Group rising 50c to €22. Glanbia rose by a modest 9c to €4.23 as did Greencore up 4c to €4.73.
Bookmakers Paddy Power were also on the up by 55c to €24.35.
