Sinn Fein president Gerry Adams has signed a deal for the next instalment of his autobiography.
A party spokesman confirmed tonight that an agreement had been reached with the American publishers Random House.
But he dismissed reports that the West Belfast MP was being paid £400,000.
He said: "That is pure invention."
Mr Adams is to attend the Frankfurt Book Fair tomorrow.
The spokesman said he had entered into agreement with the US publishing house following talks with the literary agent Andrew Wylie.
No title has been finally agreed for the next book, which has tentatively been called Hope and History.
The spokesman added: "It probably will not see the light of day until some time towards the end of next year."
Mr Adams first autobiography, Before the Dawn, told of his days growing up in west Belfast.
It attracted criticism for the lack of detail about his time as a leading republican at the height of the violence which erupted in Northern Ireland.
The new book is expected to take up the story with the Sinn Fein chief’s continued efforts to cement the fledgling peace process.
