The ISEQ index was down 2.38 points at 6302.23 today.
Anglo Irish Bank was the best performer of the day, up 30c (3.1%) at €10.00. The rest of the financials did not fare so well. Bank of Ireland was down 8c at €12.82. The bank announced that the AGM for its Liquidity Funds will be held on July 19.
AIB was down 5c at €16.88, while Irish Life and Permanent dropped 4c to €13.61.
Elan dropped 17c (3%) following a report in the New England Journal of Medicine that its multiple sclerosis drug Tysabri is likely to have caused the brain infection that killed two patients.
Hotel group Jury’s Doyle was down 20c (1.3%) following reports that it plans to close two hotels in Dublin’s Ballsbridge.
CRH was the day’s busiest share, and fell 15c to €21.02.
Ryanair gained 5c to €6.48.
Glanbia announced a number of directorate changes today, including naming Michael Walsh chairman. Its shares finished the day unchanged at €2.70.
