Mouse Morris reports Foxchapel King to be in ‘‘mighty’’ shape for the Tote Gold Cup at Cheltenham in a fortnight’s time.

‘‘He’s mighty. It’s all going to plan so far but there’s still two weeks to go though. So far so good,’’ the Tipperary trainer said today.

‘‘He’s basically ready. I’ve just get him there sound, fresh and well in himself.’’

The nine-year-old has put himself in line for a crack at chasing’s blue riband prize on March 14 by winning a hat-trick of prestigious prizes in his last three races.

‘‘He hasn’t blotted his copybook yet and it’s a very open race,’’ added Morris of his winner of the Munster National, the James Nicholson Wine Merchant Champion Chase and the Grade 2 Ericsson Chase.

Foxchapel King has been well-supported in recent days and is now as low as 12-1 with William Hill and Ladbrokes for the Cheltenham showpiece.

Morris intends to send five horses to the Festival and all will be ridden by David Casey.

He runs Boss Doyle in the Bonusprint Stayers’ Hurdle, Rostropovich in the Smurfit Champion Hurdle, Hyderabad in the JCB Triumph Hurdle and Monifeth Man for the Coral Eurobet Cup.
